Baa-ram-ewe.

"Baa-ram-ewe. Baa-ram-ewe. To your breed, your fleece, your clan be true. Sheep be true.
 Baa-ram-ewe." 

Few movies have the ability to resonate well past their box office prime. The ones that stand the test of time usually have something special that awakens something inside of us.  When my kids were young, they could watch the same movie until grooves were worn into the DVD.  What drew them into a film time and time again was not necessarily the story, but the lessons learned from it. In our home a few favorites have stuck: The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo. They all seem to play out as cautionary tales of going beyond our limits and seeing what’s on the other side. Yesterday, while sifting through some old photos, another movie came to mind.  Babe is the story of a little pig that teaches us about tolerance. The animals in this movie reflect human emotions and speak. If you can get past that, you're  in for a great story.  Like humans, even farm animals in this movie tend to stereotype their neighbors.  No creature seems to be immune from the wrath of another.  But one little pig knows how to play in the sandbox with others and defy the typical traits that tear us apart. The moral of this story is simple. Kindness is important and so is saying please and thank you. “That’ll do pig.”
