In Washinton DC stands hundreds of monuments built to pay homage to something or another. While we enjoyed seeing these marble masterpieces, nothing caught our eye quite like the pigeons and squirrels that scurried around them. For 4 days strait, we walked around with a can of Planters unsalted nuts not to feed ourselves, but our newfound urban friends that seemed to grace every open green. The critters were without doubt friendlier than NYC critters. I love this photo of this little girl, because she too experienced their good-fellowship. Lesson learned was that little is needed to entertain kids. No massive museums filled with treasures necessary. The only admission cost to this attraction…a couple of peanuts.
