The Ironman Sampler
Sometimes for the sake of this blog audience, I wish I could bring you a genre that you have never seen before. I long to be able to satiate my endless appetite for the unseen and unexplored. I wish I could deliver horse racing, formula one or bass fishing, but in those, I am unconnected. But most passionate types don't just dabble in experiences, they drench themselves with them. So here I am again, sharing a small world that is my family's every day and every year. Again we find ourselves at an Ironman event. This time, we were in Mont Tremblant, Canada, at the North American Championship. To completely understand this sporting event, you must fully immerse yourself and embrace it's many possibilities of success and failure. So whether or not the sport is meant for you, I hope that these pictures help you come away with a sampling of it's many parts and feeling a bit like you were there. I hope these photos seem like a box of chocolates, all unique in some way; but all connected too. We were a three man show, heading north and leaving my daughter to take on her first experience at cross country camp. I thought often of her survival as a new runner while watching these more seasoned ones take on their own unprecedented challenges. Throughout the week, my boys bonded in their love of this trio of sports. There may be no turning back now as I have two generations under one roof fully indoctrinated into the sport. While it all unfolded, I looked for the details so I could share them with you. Once your in deep, it's the details that keep you hungry. After all, I may be watching this for a few years to come. Oh Canada, thanks for the beautiful backdrop once again. You have again produced a stellar event, unlike few I have witnessed before.

Once again you tell a story. Love these images. Maybe next year I can talk Tom into doing this race. We can take twice as many pics together!
